CAL-MUM COUNCIL OF CHURCHES

The Cal-Mum Council of Churches is comprised of nine churches in the community: Caledonia Assembly of God; Church of God, Caledonia; First Presbyterian Church, Caledonia; St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Caledonia; St. Columba/St. Patrick, Caledonia; United Presbyterian Stone Church, Caledonia; First Baptist Church, Mumford; First United Presbyterian Church, Mumford and Second Baptist Church, Mumford.

The Council meets five times a year, planning special worship services – Easter Sunrise, Baccalaurette, and Thanksgiving Eve and Fall Hymn Sing. They also host women’s breakfasts, overnight retreats, participate in the community Harvest Hop, the Hometown Holiday Parade with a Living Nativity, produce a community Christmas play and the annual Rubber Ducky Derby, whose proceeds benefit the BackPack Food Program at Stone Church and Focus on the Children’s Back to School Program.

Our work is supported by dues paid by each congregation based on their membership and by donations.

Our Mission Statement:

We are one body whose members are united by Christ. United we work to strengthen and nurture the spiritual life of the Caledonia-Mumford community. We seek to serve God and the people of this community by following the examples of Jesus Christ. To prepare God’s people for works of service so the body of Christ may be built up.
