Caledonia First Presbyterian Church is a drop-off location for the BackPack Project!

Mission:
To provide supplementary food to families of kids in the Cal-Mum schools.
Cal-Mum teachers identify students who may benefit from supplementary weekend food to a school nurse. Referrals to the program are made via the school school nurse.
The school communicates with the families to explain the program and offer the chance to accept or decline the offered help. Volunteers at the Evangelical Presbyterian Stone Church package the food in the backpacks, which are then delivered to the school and discreetly provided to students at the end of the week. Names of families and students utilizing the program are held in confidence by the school.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are provided for the entire weekend. Typically the food requires little/no preparation just in case a parent is not available to cook/prepare the food.
